This is among the very few remaining natural habitats where the close to extinction mountain gorillas can be seen.\u00a0 This park has the largest number out of the 1000 gorillas remaining in the world. Besides gorilla trekking other activities include bird watching, cultural tours and nature walks.<\/p>\n<p>Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Bwindi Gorilla Park<\/p>\n<p>Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest<\/p>\n<p>Day 3: Return to Kampala, end of Safari<\/p>\n<p><strong>Detailed Itinerary <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Bwindi Gorilla Park<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Very early in the morning a safari guide from Travel Gorge Tours will pick you up from your hotel by 7:00am and then transfer you to Bwindi National Park found in southwestern Uganda. Along the lengthy drive, you will stopover at the Uganda Equator for photographs and souvenir shopping at the crafts hop. You will have lunch in Mbarara town and later in the evening arrive at your accommodation for dinner and the night\u2019s rest.<\/p>\n<p>Meal plan: lunch and dinner<\/p>\n<p>Accommodation options: Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community bandas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 2: Trekking Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi NP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters where you will be met by the park warden who will brief about this amazing activity. You will be separated in groups of eight people and led by a guide and park rangers start traversing the thick forests in search for the hairy mountain gorillas. The trek take any thins between 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on their movements. You will traverse the muddy slippery trails so you are recommended to carry enough drinking water and wear strong hiking boots with good ankle support. When you find them, you will be allowed one hour to take photographs with the gorillas and observe them go about their day to day activities. You will have lunch en route and make a number of stops if time allows to sites like the mpambire drum makers.
