1 Day Uganda Adventure Tour Jinja, Sezibwa falls and Mabira forest
This I day Uganda adventure tour is very ideal for people visiting the country on business who do not have enough time to take a safari. In this one day adventure you will wake up very early morning and our driver guide from Travel Gorge Tours will pick you up from your hotel and you will visit three main tourist sites. You head towards the eastern part of the country driving through the beautiful countryside past roadside markets with fresh fruits, vegetables and roasted meat and plantain.
The Sezibwa falls tour
The first stopover on this adventure will be at the Sezibwa falls which is a cultural site o the Buganda Kingdom. It has numerous bird species, beautiful scenery and interesting folktales. This is a perfect destination for bird watchers. you will also visit the traditional healer as well as the beautiful waterfalls. On arrival you will be received by a local guide from the site who will lead you on a tour across the site.
Sezibwa falls’ name was derived from the phrase – ‘sizibwa kubbo’ in the local luganda language and that translates into ‘my-path-can-never-be-blocked’. This was so to best explain its nature as the flow of its waters couldn’t be stopped despite the various obstacles including rocks found down its path. along its course, this river flows over various rocks forming spectacular waterfalls especially in the rainy months when its water volume is higher. You won’t only enjoy the beautiful scenery but also take very beautiful pictures here as well as learn a lot about the Buganda kingdom’s beliefs.
Hiking in Mabira forest
The next stopover will be in Mabira forest which is the largest rainforest closest to Uganda’s capital Kampala city. You will transfer to the Eco-tourism center from where you will start on a trail in the forest led by one of the forest guides. You will learn about the numerous trees species some dating back to several hundred years ago. You will learn about the different medicinal plant, encounter butterflies, lizards, chameleons, various birds and a number of primates jumping from one tree branch to another such as the red-tailed monkeys.
Explore Jinja– Source of River Nile (Boat ride)
From Mabira you will proceed eastwards to Jinja one of the tourist capitals in Uganda, thanks to its numerous adventure activities available. It is in this town the source of the longest river in the world – River Nile is found. On arrival, you will have lunch, and then head out for a boat ride on the Nile beginning at the point close to where this river leaves Lake Victoria. The ride will take you to the source of this great long river from where it begins the long 4,000mile journey across central and northern Africa until it eventually pours into the Mediterranean Sea. The local guide who will lead you on this ride will narrate to you a number of interesting legends and tales about the source of the Nile.
Other optional activities you can enjoy while in Jinja include: Bungee Jumping, white water rafting on its Grade Five rapids, horse riding, kayaking, squad biking and jet boating. For a better experience in jinja and enough time to enjoy the numerous activities, we recommend you take an extra day or two on this adventure.
You will later be driven back to Kampala and the driver-guide will drop you at your hotel of preference or to the airport for your departure flight.
